Nicola Torriero is a Montreal based DJ that has been active for over 30 years. He is best known as the founder of the Bal En Blanc event which he conceived in 1994. He subsequently went on to produce original material for the famous Black & Blue main event, and also for DiverCité Grande Danse. He has productions released on labels such as Stereo Productions, Lapsus Music and Magna Recordings.

He has been a regular at Montreal’s iconic nightclub Stereo since it opened as well as many other residencies and regular appearances such as Playground, Aria, Sona, RedLite, Cherry, Di Salvios, Royal, Love Sundays, Salon Daomé, and most recently at a new Montreal venue, The Sanctuary.

He plays a particular driving style which is present in all the genres he plays. Through his journey in music he has explored the full spectrum from the origins of House Music through Tribal, progressive and techno. These styles set the tone of his chugging tempo that is his signature sound. In 2015 Nicola launched his own radio show named Rhythm is Rhythm, which he created as a platform to showcase great talent within the Electronic Music Scene locally and beyond. Since 2020 he has embraced a style that incorporates the darker side of progressive with a hint of tribal and techno. He still loves to play vinyl in his infamous black room where he enjoys its warm analogue sounds.
