Julie/Anne, a passionate music lover and a very talented emerging artist from the Montreal underground music scene. She was inspired by her encounter with underground progressive house and techno. Her experience with this music brought her in 2015 to get into DJing, which she pursued through self-education and by following her strong intuitions and musical senses.

As 2020 turned into a nightmare for many of us, Julie/Anne rose to the occasion, leaving an indelible mark in music lovers’ hearts. Back in February 2020, after she literally floored everyone at Velvet Speakeasy (a well-known venue in Montreal), she continued spreading her love of music in many ways as everything was shutting down. She made her mark with her FB live sessions, recorded collabs with Paris (France), Oslo (Norway), collaborated with SuperSonic Gin to curate an amazing Spotify playlist featuring local electronic productions, and was invited on AfterHours.FM. Julie/Anne also has a passion for lending a hand to help great causes: she is involved with FK en Musique, a non-profit organisation that raises awareness and funds to help cure Cystic Fibrosis by sharing musical experiences. She is implicated not only as a DJ, but also as an artistic director, marketing consultant (as she has over 20 years of experience in that domain), and member of the board of direction.

One of her biggest accomplishments so far, has been the opportunity to open for Eekkoo (Canadian producer signed to the mau5trap label) at Piknic Electronik in July 2021, the most sought out summer event in Montreal.

When dancefloors shortly reopened again in November 2021, she had the privilege to be invited at Salon Daomé, Espac3, and Nhau bar where she has since been playing as a resident DJ. She also played in multiple festivals such as Origine I & II, Illusion, and Front Republic.

As she never stops evolving, Julie/Anne recently decided to pair up with producer Lilla Støv to release their first track “Wolken” on Suprematic Sounds. Teh track received rapid support from legendary artists Hernan Cattaneo and Rodriguez Jr.

In terms of musical styles, Julie/Anne does not define herself as a “one genre” DJ. She creates sound journeys that weave various textures and sounds, whether they come from the melodic house, dark progressive, even organic, downtempo and indie sides. As a true artist, she crafts her sets according to the desired ambiance, but always with her unique storytelling. You will notice her particular attention to detail in every set.

If you are lucky enough to attend one of Julie/Anne’s performances, you will quickly see that she is a genuine artist who loves to perform live and connect with her audience. There is an indescribable energy in her that keeps you coming back for more.

On the other side of the spectrum, Julie/Anne is also making her mark a musical priestess, making music alchemy with signing crystal bowls, shamanic drums, and her incredible soothing voice.
